The Wilson College Athletic Department announced Jared Trulear as the new head women’s basketball coach. Trulear spent the previous two seasons as the assistant coach for the Phoenix.
"I am truly excited to become the head coach of the Wilson College women’s basketball program," said Trulear. I have always had aspirations to build a basketball program and I am very fortunate to have an incredible group of players that are working everyday toward that goal. Although recruiting is a top priority of mine to build the program, I could not have asked for a better group of student-athletes to begin this process."
Trulear is a 2009 graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Sport Management, minored in Business Administration, and had a concentration in Athletic Administration. As a competitive high school player, he has invaluable playing experience, as well as coaching experience at the middle school and high school levels. Since 2012, Trulear has also coached various age groups of players in Amateur Athletic Union Basketball through Advanced Hoops in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
"Everything begins and ends with our new philosophy and mission statement regarding toughness and togetherness. As our program grows, I feel confident that our team has an identity," said Trulear. "The current players’ hard work and dedication to the program’s new direction is contagious and motivate me to no end. I am ecstatic for what the future holds for Wilson College women’s basketball."
Trulear will guide his team through the completion of the 2013-14 season and continue recruiting for the 2014-15 academic year. He currently resides in Harrisburg with his wife Courtney and their daughter Morgan.
