Carly Assimon Named CU Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach

The Clarkson University Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Carly Assimon as assistant coach for the Golden Knights’ Women’s Basketball program for the 2021-22 season.

Assimon, who graduated in May 2021 with a 3.5 grade-point average from Clarkson with a degree in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, was a four-year member of the Golden Knights and was named a captain back in 2018, a position she held through the remainder of her collegiate career. She missed the majority of her junior season due to injury and had a shortened senior campaign as well, but still finished her career having played 59 games and totaling 349 points, 156 rebounds, 99 assists, and 45 steals. She finished ninth all-time at Clarkson in 3-point field goals made with 83.

A three-time Liberty League All-Academic member, Assimon helped run the program’s social media accounts and was a key part of the grass root campaign for fundraising for the program for the annual Let’s CU Give initiative.
