Chattanooga head coach Katie Burrows is putting the finishing touches on her new staff. The faces will remain the same, but the responsibilities will shift.
Assistant coaches Brittany Johnson and Jon Goldberg will remain on the staff and Debbie Black moved from Director of Operations to assistant coach. Former student-athlete Aryanna Gilbert will be the Mocs’ student assistant as she finishes her final year of graduate school.
“This staff is amazing!” Burrows said. “I am thrilled that I get to continue to work alongside such great coaches, who are even better people. We work well together and truly enjoy being around each other. It’s going to be a blast!”
Johnson, a recent inductee into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, will work with the guards while overseeing academic progress of the student-athletes and coordinate all community service engagements.
Goldberg begins his second year as an assistant and will continue his work with the posts. He is also the recruiting and video coordinator.
Black, a former WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, will work with the guards alongside Johnson. Off the court her duties will be scheduling, international recruiting and coordinate summer camps.
“I’m excited for Debbie to be back in a coaching role. She has a deep passion for basketball and belongs on the court making players better.”
Gilbert just finished her career with the Mocs and will spend the next year finishing graduate school. Her responsibilities will be to assist with recruiting materials, social media accounts and video coordination.
