Eastern Illinois women’s basketball head coach Marqus McGlothan has announced the hiring of Myron Brown and Mickayla Perdue as assistant coaches on the Panthers 2026-27 staff.
Brown is a veteran coach with stops at several different levels of the college game including serving last year on the staff at New Mexico State University where he helped coach a second team All-Conference USA selection. He has additional assistant coaching stops at the NCAA Division I level at Oakland University and North Florida. In addition to his experience as an assistant coach, Brown provides a head coaching background with five years as the head coach at NAIA member Thomas University in Georgia.
Perdue comes to EIU following a standout career as a player, most recently as a graduate student playing at the University of Arizona. She was a two-time All-Horizon League player at Cleveland State including earning Horizon League Player of the Year honors in 2025. Perdue has additional college playing experience at Glenville State and Toledo. In addition to her playing ability on the court, Perdue served as a brand ambassador as a student-athlete with several national brands including Freddy’s Steakburgers and NBA 2K26, Take Two Interactive.
