Brodie joins UNH WBB program as Director of Operations and Assistant Coach

Alexa Brodie was named the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball Director of Operations and Assistant Coach by Megan Shoniker, first-year head coach of the UNH women’s basketball program, on Tuesday.

“I am ecstatic to announce that Alexa will be joining our program as Director of Basketball Operations and Assistant Coach,” Shoniker said. “Alexa’s resume as a player speaks for itself, but it was her energy, confidence, and mentality that stuck out to me during our first conversation. She is a leader, a worker, and is willing to do whatever it takes to help this program become successful – just like she did as a player at Colgate. Alexa has a bright future in coaching and we are lucky she is joining our Wildcat Family!”

Brodie was a four-year captain and five-year letterwinner at Colgate University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in May 2024. The 5-foot-6 guard eclipsed 1,000 career points (1,056) and is No. 2 on the program’s all-time assist list with 354 – she was the team’s assist leader each of the past four seasons.

Brodie is the Colgate record holder in both games played (125) and games started (123).

The native of Chalfont, Pa. earned All-Patriot League Second Team and All-Patriot League Defensive Team as a senior last season, when she led the Raiders to 20 wins, their first postseason appearance in 20 years, first ever postseason win, and first WNIT Super 16 appearance by a Patriot League team.

Brodie’s other Patriot League accolades included All-Rookie Team (2019-20) and Academic Honor Roll.

Brodie was the recipient of the 2024 Colgate Athlete of the Year award, which is presented to one female across all women’s teams.
