Brenner promoted to Associate Head Coach at UTPB

In her third season on the UT Permian Basin Women’s Basketball bench, Sam Brenner has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.  Brenner has spent her time under Head Coach Rae Boothe working with post players, assisting in recruiting, coordinating community service projects, and overseeing student-athlete academic success.

“I’m so fortunate to be able to work with a tremendous staff,” said Boothe.  “Sam is a rising star in this profession. She has grown tremendously and works incredibly hard. Each season she gains more and more responsibility. I truly believe we are building a first class program and I know we wouldn’t be close without her. It is my honor to promote Sam to be our Associate Head Coach.”

Brenner helped with a major turnaround in 2019-20 as the Falcons won the most Lone Star Conference games in the program’s fourth year in the league.  Brenner coached post player Alexis Quaadman to a historic season.  In just her freshman season, Quaadman became the program’s all-time leader in blocks and set the single season record for rebounds.  She finished with eight double-doubles, also a school record.

Brenner and the Falcons head east this weekend to face Texas A&M – Kingsville on Friday and Saturday.
