Northern Arizona has just released the following statement:
“A change in leadership in the women’s basketball program has been made as we continue to move forward in meeting NAU Athletics’ core goals. Robyne Bostick is serving as the interim head coach for the 2016-17 season. A national search will be conducted at the conclusion of the season. NAU Athletics remains committed to ensuring that our student-athletes are successful in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.”
Darling, a former assistant at Arizona and Arizona State was about to enter her 5th season as the head coach at NAU. She had compiled a 36-82 (24-52 Big Sky) record during her tenure at the school. She was also the head coach at Air Force from 1998-2001 (12-70).
Northern Arizona opens their season on November 11th when they travel to UTEP.
