The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics announced on Monday, March 16, that it will not renew the contract of head women’s basketball coach Autumn Rademacher.
"I would like to thank Autumn for the time, dedication and passion that she brought to the University of Detroit Mercy women’s basketball program," said Director of Athletics Robert C. Vowels, Jr. "This was a very difficult decision. She accomplished a lot as a Titan, but after a careful review of the program, I have decided that we needed to make a change."
Coach Rademacher took over her alma mater in 2007 and compiled a 101-120 overall record in her seven seasons.
During her tenure, the Titans made three trips to the Horizon League Championship semifinals, advancing to the title game in 2012. She led the team to the postseason twice, winning the WBI in 2013 and earning a bid to the WNIT in 2012. Detroit also posted three winning seasons in her seven years, including a pair of 20-win campaigns.
A national search for the 11th head women’s basketball coach in school history will begin immediately.
