Portland State Athletics Director Mark Rountree has announced that Women’s Basketball Coach Sherri Murrell has been relieved of her duties. Assistant Coach Jennifer Mountain will take over as interim coach for the five remaining games this season.

"I want to thank Coach Murrell for her service and dedication to Portland State," said Rountree. "However, I feel like now is the right time to make a change to move the program forward."

Murrell was in her eighth season as Head Coach at Portland State. She has a 121-119 record as the Vikings’ Coach. The Vikings have a 3-21 record this season.
