Miami University has relieved Head Women’s Basketball Coach Maria Fantanarosa of her duties effective immediately, and a national search for her successor will begin today (Apr. 4). Director of Athletics David Sayler informed Coach Fantanarosa of the decision yesterday afternoon.

"I want to thank Coach Fantanarosa for all that she has done for Miami in her 15 seasons as Head Women’s Basketball Coach," said Sayler. "She has been a valued member of the Miami community, and we wish her success in the next chapter of her career.”

In 15 seasons at Miami, Fantanarosa compiled a 237-212 record, with four postseason appearances including an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008.
