Former Auburn University Associate Head Coach Kerry Cremeans has been named Head Coach of the University of Denver women’s basketball team. Cremeans succeeds newly-hired Boston College Head Coach Erik Johnson and becomes the ninth head coach in DU women’s basketball history since the program’s inception in 1974. Cremeans spent eight seasons at Auburn, including the last two as the program’s associate head coach, and is widely regarded as one of the top recruiters in the country. Cremeans arrives at Denver with more than 18 years of coaching experience. A 1994 graduate of Florida and four-year basketball letterwinner, Cremeans served on the coaching staff of her alma mater in 2003-04 after spending seven years as the top recruiter at Purdue under legendary head coach Nell Fortner.
