Fifth-year coach Kevin Borseth announced today (Wednesday, April 4) his resignation as University of Michigan women’s basketball coach. Borseth informed the team and staff of his departure at an afternoon meeting. He posted an 87-73 overall record and a 38-48 Big Ten mark at Michigan, including a 2012 NCAA Tournament appearance.
Borseth is returning to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he coached for nine seasons before accepting the Wolverines head coach position prior to the 2007-08 season. He replaces Matt Bollant, who accepted the head coaching position at the University of Illinois in late March.
A national search for Michigan’s next women’s basketball coach will begin immediately.
