Bre Zanders Named New Lindenwood University Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach

Lindenwood University women’s basketball head coach Tony Francis announced this week that Bre Zanders has been hired to fill out his coaching staff for the 2017-18 season.

“I am excited to announce our newest addition the women’s basketball family,” said Francis. “I am humbled to welcome Bre Zanders to the coaching staff as she will assume a part-time position. Bre will contribute immediately to our efforts in building a nationally recognized program.

“She will assume responsibilities as our director of digital and social media, coordinate team travel, and will assist in post-player development. Bre has been a valuable member of the team for the last four seasons as a player. Her transition into this new role will allow our program to continue moving forward. As Lindenwood Athletics former president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, she has earned the respect from everyone within the campus community.”

Zanders has been a letterwinner for the Lady Lions for the last four seasons. She appeared in 104 career games, including 11 starts as a senior. She shot 51.1 percent from the field for her career, and collected 291 points, 281 rebounds, and 40 blocked shots.

Zanders played a key leadership role on last year’s team, as she helped direct a very young squad to the 2017 MIAA Tournament semifinals.
