Northern Illinois University women’s basketball head coach Lisa Carlsen announced the addition of Jenna Bolstad to her coaching staff for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
“Jenna will be a great addition to our staff,” Carlsen said. “She is full of energy and enthusiasm with a passion for the details of coaching. With head coaching experience, she will bring a wealth of knowledge to our program and be able to jump right in to help our players grow, learn and excel. I can’t wait to work with Jenna as we begin our journey with this talented roster.”
Bolstad brings a decade of coaching experience to DeKalb. She most recently was the head coach at Miles Community College in Miles City, Mont. for the last two years. In 2023-24 the Pioneers had three All-Conference selections. Bolstad played at Miles for two seasons from 2006-08, leading the Pioneers to a 56-8 record. She continued her collegiate career at Black Hills State where the Lady Yellow Jackets reached the NAIA Division II tournament twice, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2009.
“I’m excited to join the coaching staff at NIU and thankful for the opportunity to work under Coach Carlsen and learn as much as I can,” said Bolstad. “I am looking forward to working with the team and the season ahead.”
Before becoming the head coach at Miles Community College Bolstad was an assistant coach at Montana Tech from 2019-22. She spent four seasons at Williston State College as an assistant coach after coaching as a graduate assistant at Black Hills State for the 2014-15 season. Bolstad began her coaching career as the head girls basketball coach at Ray High School in Ray, N.D. in 2013.
