When North Arkansas College athletic director, Stacie Klott resigned in July to spend more time with family, several balls were up in the air. Klott had coached the women’s basketball team for 13 years and departed right before classes began initiating a full-on sprint to fill the vacancy.
Northark quickly promoted current Head Baseball Coach Bobby Howard into the athletic director slot. College President Randy Esters announced today that Howard had accepted the interim women’s basketball position.
“We consider this a very important hire and I’m pleased Bobby will serve the 2017-18 year as interim coach,” says Esters. “This will give us time to reach out to find the right person to lead the ladies on a permanent basis.
“The best thing to do for the program was to coach both sports,” Howard said. “That’s a challenge and I’m excited to work with all the talented athletes that we have in our program.”
