Blake named Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach at Queens University of Charlotte

Queens University of Charlotte Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jen Brown has announced the addition of Kenneth Blake to her coaching staff on Monday afternoon. Blake comes to Queens City after serving as the Assistant Coach for the Defiance College Women’s Basketball program.

“We are elated to add Kenny, his fiancee, Najah and young daughter, Kennedi to our Royal family,” said Head coach Jen Brown. “His experience and resume speaks for itself. Kenny is well-known within our basketball community for his work effort, scouting and recruiting. More importantly, he’s the right fit for what we need. He will be a great addition to our program.

Prior to his last season at Defiance College, Blake spent six seasons at Anne Arundel Community College serving as the assistant coach. While there, he helped lead the team to a NJCAA District G Championship and a NJCAA D3 National Championship appearance.

Blake brings extensive basketball experience into this role with the Royals. He worked as the Basketball Sports Coordinator for I-9 Sports, Jr. NBA coach for the Washington Wizards/Washington Mystics, and the Basketball Technical Director for the Assist Basketball Network. Blake also spent five years as the Varsity Boys/Middle School Basketball Head Coach and Athletic Director for Lanham Christian School from 2011-2016.

“I’m grateful and humbled for the opportunity to join Coach Brown’s staff,” said Blake. “I look forward to working alongside this amazing staff and Queens community as we serve and build. Queens University is a special place with an amazing head coach at the helm that I can grow and learn underneath. I can’t wait to get to work and help drive this program to new heights. Go Royals!”
