Becker resigns at Cal State San Bernadino

After 17 seasons as head coach of the Coyotes women’s basketball program, Kevin Becker has announced his resignation, CSUSB Director of Athletics Dr. Kevin Hatcher announced today.

“Over the course of the last 17 years, it has been my privilege to teach and coach so many outstanding young women,” Becker said. “It’s been my pleasure to work for a fine university. I believe it is time to begin a new chapter in my life and I am thankful for the opportunity to coach and work at Cal State San Bernardino.”

Becker compiled records of 251-216 (overall) and 165-176 (California Collegiate Athletic Association) in his 17 seasons. Four of his teams secured NCAA Tournament berths (1998, 2007, 2008 and 2011) and he led two teams to second-place CCAA regular-season finishes (1998 and 2008).

“I want to thank Coach Becker for his commitment to the university, his teams and student-athletes during his 17 years as head coach,” Hatcher said. “There is no doubt that Coach Becker has a personal commitment to making our student-athletes not only better players, but better people.”

Prior to his arrival at CSUSB, the Bismarck, N.D., native coached nine seasons (1987-1996) at Yavapai Community College in Prescott, Ariz.

An immediate search will begin to find a replacement.
