East Central Community College welcomes Ashley Beals as an assistant Women’s basketball coach. Beals will join Head Women’s Basketball coach Pringle’s staff for the 2024-25 Women’s Basketball season.

Beals brings 5 years of experience as a coach at the high school level. From 2018 to 2023, Beals served as an assistant girls’ basketball coach, head volleyball coach, and assistant track coach at Canton High School.

Beals was a standout forward at Mississippi Valley State University. She was honored as SWAC Freshman of the Year, Rookie of the Year, 1st Team All-SWAC, 2nd Team All-SWAC, and was part of the BOXTOROW All-American Player Team. She played one season overseas in her professional basketball career from 2017-2018.

In high school, Beals led the 2012-2013 Canton High School Women’s Basketball team to its first-ever state championship, earning MVP, Player of the Year, and 1st Team All-State honors. She also excelled in track, going to state in the high jump and long jump, earning a first-place tie for the high jump.

Born in Canton, MS, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Mississippi Valley State University and a Master’s in Education from Belhaven University. She is pursuing a Specialist Degree in Administration from Nova Southeastern University and is expected to graduate in 2025.
