Banks out as Women’s Basketball Head Coach at Omaha

Omaha Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics Adrian Dowell announced Tuesday that women’s basketball head coach Carrie Banks will not return to the program next season.

Banks compiled a record of 51-89 (.364) over five seasons.

“Today I informed Carrie Banks, our student-athletes and coaches in the women’s basketball program of my decision to make a leadership change for the head coaching position. After careful assessment of the program, I am confident that under new leadership, we can achieve an elevated standard of competitive success,” said Dowell.

“We thank Carrie for her contributions over the past five years and have initiated the process of identifying the next head coach of the Omaha women’s basketball program.”

A national search will begin immediately to find the tenth head coach in program history.
