Anthony Evans Hired as Lady Bears Video Coordinator

Missouri State has hired Anthony Evans to the newly-created position of Video Coordinator on its women’s basketball staff, head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton announced Thursday.

Evans has five years’ experience in Division I athletics at Auburn University and spent the 2020-21 academic year as the head junior varsity coach and varsity assistant for the Vestavia Hills (Ala.) High School boys team, helping the two squads to a combined 42-9 record.

While at Auburn, Evans spent 2018-20 as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball program, during which time he aided in player development (both in-season and offseason), scouting, in-game analysis, post-game analysis, and managed the male scout team.

As an undergraduate, Evans served as Assistant to the Director of Athletic Facilities, helping with preparation and breakdown for a wide variety of events at Auburn’s venues.

He also has experience in leadership roles with camps at Auburn and Belmont.

Evans owns two degrees from Auburn, earning a bachelor’s in exercise science in 2018 and Master’s in administration of higher education in May 2020.

Coach Mox on Evans:
“I am first and foremost extremely grateful that we were able to create this position! I am even more excited about the person who is filling it! Anthony is an amazing young man! He has a great basketball mind, and an even better work ethic to go with it. He is a doer, a results-based guy who is committed to the grind! He is very well versed in all things video, which will help us continue to scout, recruit, and develop our Lady Bears at an extremely high level. The icing on the cake is his character. A God-fearing, genuine, respectful human being with a grateful heart!”
