Former Division I starting guard Marisa Crane has been named the new assistant women’s basketball coach at Albright College.
Crane graduated Cum Laude in the spring of 2012 from Drexel University, with a degree in psychology. She was a four-year member of the Division I basketball team at Drexel, and started for three seasons.
She started all 30 games she played as a senior, finishing second on her squad in assists (79). As a sophomore she led the Colonial Athletic Association in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.7), while also dishing out 134 assists- the best total by a Dragon player in 20 years.
Crane earned CAA All-Academic Team and Drexel Scholar-Athlete honors in each of her four years. She was a six-time Dean’s List member, a three-time CAA Commissioner’s Award winner, and was given the Drexel Lil Haas Coaches Award as a senior.
Crane served as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia AAU Lady Runnin’ Rebels basketball team in the summer before joining the Albright staff. She has also worked numerous camps, including the Bob Koch Point Guard Academy and the Timothy School camp for autistic children.
