Katie Akins, a four-year member of the Mansfield University women’s basketball program from 2005-09, has been named the assistant women’s basketball coach. Prior to being appointed assistant coach, Akins was a volunteer coach during the Mountaineer’s preseason, assisting coach Tagliaferri with workouts and practices.
