Siena names Travis Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Siena Women’s Basketball Head Coach Terry Primm has announced the addition of Olivia Travis as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Travis joins the Saints after spending the past three seasons on the coaching staff at Western Illinois, where she helped guide the Leathernecks to one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2025-26. Western Illinois finished 26-6 overall, captured the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship, earned a share of the OVC Regular Season Championship, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

“Olivia’s journey through college basketball has prepared her exceptionally well for this opportunity,” said Primm. “Having experienced the game as a student-athlete at multiple levels before transitioning into coaching, she brings a unique perspective, outstanding relationship-building skills, and a genuine passion for developing young women. She’s already been part of a championship-caliber staff and understands what it takes to build a winning culture. Just as importantly, Olivia’s professionalism, character, work ethic, and commitment to serving others align perfectly with the standards we’ve established at Siena. We’re excited to welcome her to our family and know she’ll have a tremendous impact on our student-athletes and our program.”

During her tenure at Western Illinois, Travis played an integral role in player development, scouting, recruiting, academic success, and day-to-day basketball operations. She led individualized skill development sessions for guards and post players, coordinated scouting reports through Synergy and JustPlay, assisted with transfer portal recruiting, and served as the program’s Director of Academic Success. She also oversaw community service initiatives and supported the team’s NIL branding and social media efforts.

Her impact extended beyond the court, helping Western Illinois earn national recognition in the classroom. The Leathernecks ranked No. 2 nationally in NCAA Division I team GPA during the 2023-24 academic year and finished fourth nationally in the WBCA Academic Top 25 for the 2024-25 season.

“I am incredibly grateful to Coach Primm for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to join the Siena Women’s Basketball family,” said Travis. “It is an honor to become part of a program built on strong values, genuine relationships, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. I’m thankful to join such a passionate staff and community, and I’m excited to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Saints.”

Before entering the coaching ranks, Travis enjoyed a collegiate playing career at three institutions. She competed at Trevecca Nazarene from 2018-20 before transferring to the University of Illinois Springfield, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in sport management in 2022. Travis concluded her playing career at Oklahoma Christian while earning a master’s degree in leadership in 2023.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Travis has worked as a site manager for Point Guard College Basketball, a camp instructor for Breakthrough Basketball, and gained experience in game day operations and athletic communications during an internship at the University of Illinois Springfield.
