Thomas Lefler has joined the UNC Asheville Women’s Basketball staff as the program’s Director of Video Operations, announced today (Friday, July 11) by head coach Tynesha Lewis.
Prior to coming to Asheville, he was the special assistant to head men’s basketball coach Mark Prosser at fellow Big South Conference institution Winthrop. He managed data as well as video for the program, while overseeing student managers and assisting in day-to-day operations.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Thomas to the UNC Asheville Women’s Basketball staff,” said Lewis. “He’s a tremendous asset who brings a tireless work ethic, a team-first mentality and a deep passion for developing student-athletes. His commitment to excellence will make an immediate impact on our program.”
Prior to Winthrop he was on staff at Gardner-Webb from 2022-24 as a graduate assistant, serving as the video coordinator as well as an assistant coach for the developmental team. During his undergraduate years at Western Carolina, he was a student manager for the men’s basketball program for four years.
“I’m extremely blessed and thankful for Coach Lewis for allowing me to join her staff,” said Lefler. “I look forward to helping build Asheville Women’s basketball into the future.”
He holds a Bachelor of Science in History from Western Carolina (2022) and a Master of Arts in Sports Management from Gardner-Webb (2024).
