East Tennessee State has suspended Women’s Basketball Head Coach Simon Harris, and will terminate his contract on August 15th, according to a letter from ETSU President Brian Norland. The University recently completed an investigation following allegations by two former players that he “adopted and implemented” a team rule that was inconsistent with the University’s mission, violates ETSU’s anti-discrimination policy and may violate Title IX.

Harris led ETSU to a 6-22 (5-9 SoCon) record in his only season at the school. He was hired back in March 2021 after serving as an assistant coach at Ohio State.
Harris’ bio had already been removed from the ETSU athletics website.
