Thomas University officials announced Zac Exume would take over as the third Head Women’s Basketball Coach in Thomas University program history.
Exume comes to TU after spending the last two years as the assistant women’s basketball coach at NCAA Division II University of Arkansas at Monticello. While at UAM, Exume found success recruiting and developing the team’s leading scorer.
Prior to Monticello, Exume gained valuable NAIA experience as an assistant coach at Cincinnati Christian University.
Director of Athletics Rick Pearce spoke fondly of Exume, stating, “Zac is a bright, young, experienced coach and we are elated to have him lead our women’s basketball program,” said Pearce. “He has had great experience at both the NCAA Division II and NAIA levels and understands how to recruit to a school like Thomas University. We are excited to see him lead and build the women’s basketball program.”
At CCU, Exume helped develop two All-Conference selections, leading the program to its best conference performance in over a decade.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity to build the women’s program at Thomas University,” said Exume. “I am confident our program will be successful on the court, in the classroom, and involved in the community. I would like to thank Rick Pearce and the Thomas University administration for their belief in me. Go Night Hawks!”
Exume holds a master’s degree in Kinesiology from Miami University in 2016 where he served as graduate manager for the men’s basketball program. In 2014, Exume earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and minor in Coaching from Delaware State University.
