Description: | The Department of Athletics invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This twelve-month, full-time position is responsible for leading, managing, organizing and administering all phases of the basketball program in accordance with NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference rules and regulations. The Head Coach must have a philosophy that maintains a competitive Division I program emphasizing integrity and a championship mind set while valuing the educational and personal welfare of its student-athletes. Additional responsibilities also include coaching effectively in practice and competition, energetic and engaged recruiting, supervision of assistant coaches, scheduling and budget management, participating in promotional and fundraising activities, developing community and alumni support. Renaissance Coliseum, a $50 million 4,200 seat arena serves as the competitive and practice venue for Bradley Women’s Basketball and Volleyball while also housing the entire department of athletics staff, a student-athlete academic support center and state-of-the-art strength training and sports medicine centers. Bradley University is a top-ranked, prestigious, private university in Peoria, Illinois, offering 5,400 undergraduate and graduate students the opportunities, choices and resources of a larger university and the personal attention and exceptional learning experience of a smaller university. Bradley offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate academic programs in business, communications, education, engineering, fine arts, health sciences, liberal arts and sciences, and technology. The University is located on an 85-acre campus in Peoria, the largest metropolitan area in Central Illinois. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience required. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to recruit, lead, motivate and develop student-athletes; excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; a commitment to excellence and sensitivity to cultural differences. Proficiency with computer applications, general office software and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire. |
