Reedy named WBB Head Coach at D3 Curry College

Director of Athletics Vinnie Eruzione announced on Friday that Joe Reedy has been named the next head coach of the Curry College women’s basketball program. Reedy previously served as an assistant coach with the Curry men’s program for the past three seasons.

“We are very fortunate to have Coach Joe Reedy leading our women’s basketball program,” said Eruzione. “His experience as a player and a coach at the Division III level will be very valuable not only to our student-athletes on the court and in the classroom but also in the recruiting process. His tireless work the past three years as the men’s assistant was invaluable. He is someone who shares the same vision of success now and upon graduation for our women’s basketball student-athletes. We look forward to having him lead our program.”

In his first season with the Colonels, Reedy implemented study hall sessions in conjunction with Academic Services, which led to the highest team grade point average in program history. In addition, he was in charge of designing Adidas gear packages for all student-athletes and coaches. Reedy also played a key part in recruiting 12 student-athletes as a part of the Class of 2023, and played an integral part in all parts of the program including scouting, recruiting, and on-court coaching. He also maintained the video database of all games through Synergy and developed scouting reports from the film.

Before Curry, Reedy spent two years as an assistant coach at Wheelock College. In his second season with the Wildcats, he was named Associate Head Coach.

Reedy also has experience as the Head Coach of Rise Above Basketball in Boston in 2019.

As a student-athlete at Wheelock, Reedy was a member of the men’s basketball team from 2013-16. He also played one year at New England College in Henniker, N.H. During his time at Wheelock, he served as a team captain and holds all-time program records in field-goal percentage in a season and a career. Reedy graduated from Wheelock in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

“I am honored to be named the head women’s basketball coach at Curry,” said Reedy. “I would like to thank President Quigley and Athletic Director Eruzione for trusting me with taking over the program. I would also like to thank my family, my mother specifically, for molding me into the man I am today. I’m extremely excited to begin working with our student-athletes. I hope to build a program that the school, alumni, and our community can support and be proud of.”
