Clark Returns to UNF as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

No stranger to basketball at the University of North Florida and in Northeast Florida, former Osprey Charlsea Clark returns to UNF as assistant women’s basketball coach as announced by head coach Darrick Gibbs and staff.

“I’m so grateful to Coach Gibbs for this opportunity to rejoin the UNF women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach,” Clark said. “Coach Gibbs has established an amazing culture here, and I am so excited to get to work with these amazing players and staff. UNF is a special place and I’m thrilled to be an Osprey again.”

Clark most recently served as the head girls basketball coach at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville. She led the BK Crusaders to a 112-62 mark over six seasons, which included four district championships, three regional championships, three FHSAA state final four appearances and two state runner-up finishes in 2020 and 2021. During that time, Bishop Kenny saw five players ink letters of intent to continue playing at the next level.

While at Bishop Kenny, Clark founded Clark Basketball Academy, LLC in 2016. Designed as an all-girls basketball academy, CBA has provided year-round skill development, summer camps, and AAU programs since its inception. Clark’s passion for skill development translated to impacting hundreds of youth, college and professional players over the years. 

Clark’s first stint at UNF was between 2013 and 2015 when she served as the women’s basketball director of operations. In this role she coordinated team travel, oversaw video operations, facilitated fundraising and aided in day-to-day operations pertaining to the coaching staff and student-athletes.

Both of Clark’s degrees have been earned on the First Coast. Clark earned her master’s of education in educational leadership from UNF in 2015. In 2012 she completed her bachelor’s of arts in business administration from Flagler College. In St. Augustine she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 squad and NCAA Division II Team for her performance on the women’s basketball team.
