Description:

James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, Women’s Basketball is seeking a Director of Player Development & Recruiting to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and Responsibilities

– Breakdown practice and game film to review with players highlighting areas of improvement and strengths
– Breakdown opposing team game film and collaborate with coaches for scouting strategy
– Create highlight films/videos for both internal and external use
– Assist coaches in the development and execution of individual/group workouts, practices, and game strategy
– In conjunction with Student-Athlete Services at JMU, advise, develop goals, and promote a positive environment for academic, social, and emotional growth of student-athletes
– Organize and maintain recruiting database of prospective student-athletes and transfers
– Responsible for creating and implementing a content calendar of recruiting graphics and videos, mailouts, and social media posts
– Plan and coordinate official and unofficial visits
-Other special assignments by coaching staff

Qualifications

Required:
– Bachelors degree
– Proficient in Synergy, Hudl Sportscode, JustPlay, Adobe Creative Cloud, ARMS
– Strong administrative and organizational skills

Preferred:
– Master’s degree
– Division I playing/coaching experience of a minimum of 5 years
– Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to recruit high level student-athletes, ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff and the community. Candidates should possess a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential.
