Washington College head women’s basketball coach Alisha Mosley announced the hiring of Aaron Bryant as assistant coach of the Shorewomen.
“We are so thrilled to welcome Aaron to Washington College and our basketball program,” Mosley states. “His energy is contagious, and he has incredible enthusiasm for coaching basketball. Our student-athletes will benefit immensely from the knowledge and experience Aaron has gained over the last 17 years coaching basketball. I know he will be an incredible teacher and mentor for our student-athletes.”
Bryant has coached from the intramural level to the ranks of the Armed Forces. He was the head coach of two Military Post teams and served as the assistant coach for the 2010 and 2016 All-Army Women’s Basketball Gold Medalist Team.
In 2016, Bryant successfully started a men’s and women’s team at Fort Stewart Installation after 10 plus years of absence from the Southeast Military Athletic Conference (SEMAC). The men won the regular-season championship and the women finished second. Following the campaign, Bryant was voted Coach of the Year for the men and received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM) for an exceptional season.
He also served as the assistant coach for the 2016 Armed Forces Team USA Women’s Basketball team, where the most talented group of women were selected to compete against international teams such as China, Brazil, Canada, France and Germany.
Bryant served as an assistant coach at Bradwell Institute High school for the ninth grade, junior varsity and varsity female basketball teams. In 2018, his squad won the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Regional II Girls Varsity Championship and went on to play in the Elite 8 State Playoffs game.
Bryant possesses a Bachelor Degree in Sports and Health Science with a Concentration in Coaching from American Military University. He also hold a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Liberty University.
