Seattle University women’s basketball has announced the hiring of Brittany Aikens as Director of Operations for the 2020-21 season. Head Coach Suzy Barcomb has elevated Lexi Petersen to assistant coach and now has brought on Aikens to fill Petersen’s role for the upcoming campaign.

“First, I want to thank Coach Barcomb for providing me with the opportunity to be a part of this program,” said Aikens. “I’ve heard nothing but positive insight on her as a person and a coach. I’m excited to join the family at Seattle U while attributing to the players’ success on and off the court.”
 
Aikens served as the Director of Player Development at the University of Nevada, Reno, last season. She was a graduate assistant at Nevada prior to that. Aikens played at Fresno State, graduating in 2016.

At Nevada, Aikens worked with recruiting, opponent scouting, and player development. 
 
SU finished strong in 2019-20, beating Utah Valley in the first round of the 2020 WAC Tournament before the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
