Description: | Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach/. The incumbent assists with developing and coordinating the intercollegiate basketball program; trains and coaches the team in preparation for intercollegiate competition; keeps and maintains records and equipment as required; operates within the scope of athletic policies under supervision of the Head Coach; recruits and evaluates perspective basketball student athletes and encourages their enrollment at Allan Hancock College; and oversees the preparation of a competitive basketball schedule. This position requires day, evening or weekends. Interested applicants may have the opportunity to also work as athletic event staff. This may include scorekeeping, ticket taking, organizing student workers, or other athletic event staff responsibilities as assigned Qualified applicants who possess the minimum qualifications in the discipline of Physical Education MAY be eligible to teach part-time, . The anticipated start date is August 2019. MINIMUN QUALIFICAITONS: Experience coaching competitive basketball, able to perform minimal administrative tasks. Eligible to drive campus vehicles.
WORK SCHEDULE: Practices run 2-5pm Monday – Friday with some Saturday practices and contests. Basketball Season runs begins in August and runs throughout the academic year, until May. Athletic event staff responsibilities are in the evenings and on weekends per athletic contest schedules. SALARY: An assistant basketball coaching stipend of $5,000 to cover intercollegiate season from August to May. Athletic event staff hourly rate is $15.59 (program assistant III) Part-time faculty assignments are compensated at the part-time faculty, hourly rates, which are publicized on the part-time faculty salary scheduled.
