WHoopDirt.com has learned that Mark Leszczyk will be named as the next head women’s basketball coach at Massasoit Community College (MA). Leszczyk resigned late last month after a long run at Roxbury Community College (MA). Former RCC assistant coach Kisandra Ayanbeku will also be joining Leszczyk at Massasoit.
“I am extremely excited to join the athletic department at Massasoit.” Leszczyk told WHoopDirt.com. “I have known Athletic Director Julie Mulvey for many years and you would be hard pressed to find a stronger advocate for women’s college basketball and for the mission of Junior College athletics than Julie. We look forward to working as a team and bringing this program into national prominence in a very short time”
Leszczyk has had tremendous success during his career at RCC, including winning the 2016 NJCAA DIII National Championship. He led the Lady Tigers to five overall national championship game appearances, and was named as the National Coach of the Year three times in his career. Along the way, he also captured nine conference championships, and six regional championships.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
