Delaware State University seeks applicants for head women’s basketball coach. The candidate must be self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible with a demonstrated ability to communicate readily and effectively at all levels with a wide variety of people, both within and outside of the University community. Candidates should have demonstrated successes in the classroom with a broad knowledge of NCAA Academic Progress Rate. Candidates must be able to articulate their personal philosophy on successful coaching and teaching strategies with a proven record of success and an ability to translate philosophy to student-athletes.

Candidates must demonstrate success in scouting, talent assessment and recruitment of academically astute student-athletes; monitoring of academic progress of team members; knowledge of and commitment to compliance within the scope of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rules and regulations; fundraising and promotion of the basketball program within the region. Successful candidates will be able to manage and facilitate the day-to-day operations of its budget and exercise fiscal judgment as it pertains to yearly expenses and revenue generation. Candidates must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes the character and social development of student-athletes, as well as the importance of good citizenship both on and off the court.

Delaware State University is a member of the NCAA and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The head women’s basketball coach reports to the Director of Athletics.
