Athletics Director Leonard Nardone is pleased to announce the hiring of Ido Singer as the Fisher College women’s head basketball coach.

A current resident of Oxford, Massachusetts, Singer played professional basketball from 1996 until 2002 for the Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Israel. Before playing professionally, Singer started at Grossmont College in San Diego, California, where he earned his associate degree in marketing before finishing his career at Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in general psychology.

In 2009, Singer became the head coach at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club in Manhattan, New York, where in 2012 he brought the team to their first postseason appearance in 10 years. In 2011, while coaching in New York, Singer started his own training company where he trains athletes with their skill development, footwork, agility, and balance. In 2013, Singer moved to Massachusetts to serve as the women’s basketball assistant coach at Nichols College in Dudley. Along with coaching at Nichols, he became the boys’ program director and girls’ and boys’ basketball coach for the MT Elite AAU program.

In 2014, after a year at the Division III level, Singer moved up to Division I with the River Hawks of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, where he was the director of operations. Although he was not on the court on game days with the team, Singer was responsible for the daily program operations. He was involved with practices, the coordination of team travel, meals, and recruiting.

Singer will bring his innovative basketball mind and approach to skill development through footwork to the Fisher program. He looks to impact, improve, and inspire student-athletes through hard work, academic excellence, and personal growth.
