The Robert Morris University women’s basketball team easily outpaced visiting Wagner Monday evening for a 64-44 win in Northeast Conference action at the Charles L. Sewall Center. The victory was the fourth consecutive for the Colonials (8-5, 2-0 NEC) and was the 700th win for RMU head coach Sal Buscaglia. Already the all-time leader at Robert Morris with 213 victories, Buscaglia improved to 700-361 in 38 years of coaching women’s basketball. Buscaglia has 431 wins at the Division I level and is a three-time Brenda Reilly NEC Coach of the Year.
“I’m really excited that my 700th career win was with this group of players,” said Buscaglia. “They personify the true meaning of the term student-athlete with their play on the court, their conduct off of it and a 3.6-plus GPA in the classroom. I believe they depict the type of players that every coach would love to coach.”
