Central Florida associate head coach Greg Brown will become the next head coach at Lipscomb University. He replaces Frank Bennett, who has accepted a position as associate athletic director after 32 years as head coach. Brown will be officially introduced to the Lipscomb community Thursday, May 17 at 2 p.m.
Brown, 41, was the associate women’s basketball coach at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and is a former assistant for Hall of Fame coach Pat Summitt. He has spent the last five seasons at UCF, helping lead the Knights to two Conference USA championships in 2009 and 2011, resulting in two NCAA berths.
For two seasons, Brown worked with Pat Summitt at the University of Tennessee, first serving as a graduate assistant before being promoted to assistant coach in 2003-04. During that time, the Lady Vols compiled a record of 64-9, earned two Southeastern Conference championships and were twice the runners-up in the NCAA championship game.
