A couple of things that I’ve heard as the season winds down and the coaching carousel heats up…
• I can confirm that Southern Connecticut head coach Meghan Brown is no longer with the program. There has been no official statement, but she has not been with the team for the past week or so, and an interim coach has been named. I have heard that former Clarion assistant Bert DeSalvo has taken over for the remainder of the season. Brown had been at the helm since 2007.
• I can also confirm that Black Hawk College will be searching for a new coach. Head Coach Karen Boyd is out after two seasons on the job. Her squad forfeited at least seven games this season due to lack of players. No word on a search for a replacement, or if Boyd will remain in her position as the college’s director of human resources.
