Louisiana Tech head coach Teresa Weatherspoon has been relieved of her duties effective immediately. She complied a 99-71 record over six seasons (12-20 this season).
Athletic Director Tommy McClelland was quoted as saying, “This decision was very difficult to make and was not made without careful consideration of all the facts and implications,” McClelland said. “We are grateful for the loyal and dedicated service Teresa has given to the program during her tenure. She is a big part of the lore of this storied program, and her accomplishments as a Louisiana Tech player and coach will always be remembered.”
A national search is under way to find her replacement.
