Last week, I mentioned that former Minnesota head coach Pam Borton was the leader at Northeastern (http://www.whoopdirt.com/blog/8a5df169/northeastern-quotdirt…). I now have two people who have told me that negotiations have gone south, and NU may be on to plan B. The next candidate sounds like it is Harvard assistant Kelly Cole. Before joining the Harvard staff three seasons ago, Cole was an assistant at Boston College. She was also the head coach at Buckingham Browne and Nichols – a Boston area prep school. Cole has also been an assistant at her alma mater, Northwestern. Not sure on the timetable here, but it sounds like NU wants to announce something this week.
