Janette Burgin promoted to lead assistant after serving the last two seasons a Graduate Assistant with CMU. Burgin will aide in the day-to-day operations of the program and specifically serve as CMU’s video and academic coordinator. Burgin replaces Gabe Henry who took an assistant job at Odessa College.
Last season Burgin was instrumental in helping CMU achieve one of the greatest turnarounds in NAIA Division I history and helped the Lady Eagles surpass all expectations in placing third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and winning 17 games.
Burgin, a native of Frankfort, Ind., joined the Central Methodist staff after completing her career at NCAA Division II Quincy University in Quincy, Ill. After redshirting her freshman year due to a knee surgery, Burgin played in 118 games during the next four years, including 96 starts for Quincy. She finished her career with 1,301 points, averaging 11.1 per game. In her senior season, Burgin led her team with 55 three-point field goals made, while also recording team highs of 27 blocked shots and 46 steals. She was second on the 2009-10 Quincy team in rebounding and assists, with 126 and 74, respectively.
Burgin earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in sport management from Quincy and her Masters of Education degree at CMU.
*Nicole Trawick has been hired as the new graduate assistant for Coach Arnold’s staff. Trawick comes to CMU after serving as an assistant at Burlington County College (NJ) and an assistant at Pemberton Township High School. Nicole also has significant experience on the AAU scene working with the SJ Blitz Organization.
Trawick had an outstanding freshman season on the hardwood for Bluefield State College (WV) before transferring USC-Upstate for the opportunity to play division one soccer.
