The Presbyterian College women’s basketball program and head coach Ronny Fisher announced the hiring of Corey Mullins as assistant coach.
Mullins arrives at PC after two seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Covenant (Ga.) College. In his second year, Mullins improved on his first year’s win total as the Scots played their first campaign as Great South Athletic Conference members. The new Blue Hose assistant guided the program to a tie for sixth place, helped the program secure an All-Freshman Team selection and presided over six All-Academic Team selections, second-most in the league.
Prior to his time at Covenant, Mullins served as the head men’s coach at Kentucky Christian University. He led the Knights to a 36-29 overall record and an NCCAA Mid-East region tournament championship in 2009, as well as frequent rankings in the NCCAA top 10 during both seasons.
Mullins arrived at Kentucky Christian by way of Boyce College in Louisville, Ky., where he took over as the head coach in only the second season of the program’s history. Mullins led the team to a 6-21 season before leaving to join Kentucky Christian’s staff.
The Blue Hose assistant began his coaching career at Bryan College, in Dayton, Tenn. Mullins served as an assistant on the women’s side and guided the Lady Lions to four consecutive NAIA national tournaments (2003-2007) and a trip to the sweet sixteen in 2006. Bryan also won the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) tournament in 2005 and the AAC regular season in 2006 and 2007 during Mullins’ tenure.
