Bloomsburg University graduate Kayla Oxenrider has joined the Albright College women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach.
Over the last four seasons with the Huskies, Oxenrider started all 116 games that she played in. She averaged double-digit points every year, reaching the 1,000-point milestone in the NCAA tournament during her junior season.
Oxenrider was a two-time All-PSAC selection, leading her squad to the NCAA tournament in her junior and senior seasons. The Huskies won the 2012-13 PSAC championship, defeating Gannon thanks in part to 16 points from Oxenrider.
As a coach, Oxenrider has several years of experience working at the Darnell Marshall Basketball Camp.
An accomplished student-athlete, Oxenrider graduated this spring with a degree in education while maintaining a 3.95 GPA within her major. She graduated cum laude and made the Dean’s List six times.
She was also very involved in community service, volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Homework Clubs, "Big Event", Bloomsburg flood relief and "Wee Little Angels" daycare center.
Oxenrider is a 2009 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, where she was a first team All-State selection in both basketball and volleyball.
