The University of California, San Diego is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach for the Women’s Basketball program. UC San Diego is an NCAA Division II institution, located in La Jolla, in the San Diego Metropolitan area, enrolls over 25,000 students and is one of the University of California’s 10 campuses. UC San Diego sponsors 23 varsity sports. The Head Coach has responsibility for the overall operation of the women’s basketball program in accordance with University, conference and NCAA regulations. The position is a full-time, 12-month contract position with full benefits. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a competitive Division II women’s basketball program that emphasizes integrity and the educational welfare of its student-athletes and also strives for athletic excellence within the University’s mission. Regular duties include coaching effectively in practices and successfully in games, developing student-athletes athletically and academically, organizing and implementing a recruiting plan, preparing and monitoring annual operational and recruiting budgets, participating in promotional and fundraising activities, developing community and alumni support, and conducting camps & clinics. Prefer successful collegiate head coaching experience at a high ranking academic institution, working knowledge of the NCAA regulations, and a Bachelor’s degree.
