Description: | UW Oshkosh is now recruiting for a head women’s basketball coach/game manager/facility manager. Responsibilities include: 1.Organize and operate an effective women’s basketball program. 2.Recruit effectively in guidelines set by the University, WIAC and the NCAA. 3.Assign coaching and recruiting responsibilities to and supervise the work of assistant coaches. 4.Plan and organize in-season basketball practice sessions. 5.Ensure the academic success of women’s basketball student-athletes as a model NCAA DIII institution. 6.Coordinates academic meetings with the team. 7.Plan and organize off-season conditioning programs. 8.Devise a schedule (including travel arrangements for all away meets) for women’s basketball. 9.Develop and monitor a women’s basketball budget. 10.Promotes women’s basketball and UW Oshkosh through clinics, camps, and speaking engagements. 11.Demonstrates a working knowledge of NCAA, WIAC and University rules and regulations. 12.Counsel student-athletes and set up short/long-term goals. 13.Develop and execute fundraising projects when appropriate. 14.Participate in university activities and committees. 15.Attend departmental meetings, organizational efforts, and departmental activities. 16.Take part in professional development and educational activities to stay abreast of new ideas, concepts, and changes that occur in his/her sport. 17.Work with marketing team on game environment and community outreach initiatives. 18.Coordinate and supervise home contests including facility set-up, student staff, ticket sales, and game management for a select fall sport. 19.Coordinate scheduling for users and evaluate potential athletic facility conflicts. 20.Assist the Oshkosh Convention and Visitor’s Bureau in marketing various athletic facilities. 21.Primary contact for all user groups, both internal and external. To be responsible for the preparation and execution of rental use agreements. 22.Recommend and implement athletic facilities’ policies and procedures. 23.Demonstrate success in UW Oshkosh’s essential learning outcomes. 24.Demonstrate record and commitment to diversity and inclusion and able to work with diverse populations, including but not limited to people of all ages with various ethnic, sexual orientation, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds. 25.Exhibit experience in and appreciation of inclusivity, first generation, low income and multicultural issues. 26.Create and maintain a work environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity. Set clear guidelines for expected behaviors and clear methods of reporting inappropriate behavior. 27.Demonstrate familiarity with national trends and best practices related to diversity, inclusivity, undergraduate retention programs and practices, academic support services and campus climate issues. 28.Endorse and support other sports within the Athletic Department and other duties as outlined by the Athletic Director. |
