Description:

The University of Louisville Athletic Association is seeking applicants for the position of Video Coordinator & Graphic Designer-with special emphasis on social media-within the Women’s Basketball program. This position will create best-in-class work for women’s basketball used in both internal and external publications. The ideal candidate thrives in an exciting, fast-paced environment with a premium placed on strong design and quick turnaround and fully understands the various stages of creative design development and production to ensure timely and accurate delivery. The candidate will also have heavy film responsibilities including, but not limited to: general film assignments, game film recording, breakdown of footage, and individual player edits. The position will also be responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the University of Louisville Athletic Association, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, ACC and the NCAA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate compelling ideas quickly and iterate based on rapidly-changing information
  • Manage projects with keen design sense and timely, successful project completion
  • Communicate directly with coaches for all projects and final products
  • Contribute creatively and culturally to a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Develop and execute creative concepts for digital and print-oriented materials including but not limited to: motion or digital graphics, social media, in-game elements, facility signage/graphics
  • Ability to creatively own the overall project from strategic conception to final delivery
  • Collaborate with coaches on film related projects
  • Other duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (or certificate) in Graphic Design or a related field and/or two years of work experience in marketing, advertising or communications with proven skill and education in art direction, typography, layout, composition, digital interface creation and information design (additional years of experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirement
  • Proven design and media software skills; proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and PowerPoint
  • Prior work with multiple external or internal clients, collating direction from multiple stakeholders and providing sound design counsel within short deadlines in a professional manner
  • Exemplary organizational skills, detail-oriented and results-driven
  • Proven verbal and written communications skills
  • Work Sample: Include a link on resume to portfolio that includes samples of previous work such as, but not limited to: environmental/interior graphics, print ads, outdoor boards, brochures and other branded collateral, digital work, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field and/or four years of work experience in marketing, advertising or communications with proven skill and education in art direction, typography, layout, composition, digital interface creation and information design (additional years of experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirement)
  • Knowledge of Video Production, HTML and CSS are beneficial but not required
  • Previous sports-industry (pro or college) design experience
