Boreman Named Gettysburg Women’s Hoops Assistant

Eastern University grad and assistant coach Kaleigh Boreman has been named the assistant coach for the Gettysburg College women’s basketball team.

Boreman arrives in Gettysburg after spending the last five years at Eastern where she competed in both basketball and golf before becoming an assistant basketball coach last season. As a basketball player, Boreman appeared in 106 games and averaged 4.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. She served as team captain under current Gettysburg head coach Nate Davis in 2014-15 when Eastern set a program record for wins (22) and reached the NCAA Division III Championship for the first time in program history. She was a four-time member of the Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference Team and she was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team in 2015.

Boreman was a three-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection on the golf course, including first-team honors in 2013 and 2015. She placed second at the conference championship in 2013 as the Eagles claimed the first of back-to-back team titles. Boreman was a four-time academic selection in the MAC and was the team’s MVP twice.

“Kaleigh brings a strong work ethic, high integrity, phenomenal leadership abilities, and great knowledge of the game,” said Davis. “As a former player of mine and a three-year captain, Kaleigh understands the players’ perspective but also has a great understanding of the team culture, program expectations, and the goals we have for the future.”

After graduating from Eastern with a degree in marketing and management, Boreman joined the basketball staff as a graduate assistant. She helped lead the team to a 12-13 overall record in her one year as an assistant coach.

Boreman takes over the assistant role from Lauren Healy, who left Gettysburg to become the head women’s basketball coach at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
